For quite some time now I have been a huge supporter of ILL BILLS music and have recently had the pleasure of developing a friendship with Bill, over the last year even tracking some of the vocals for his new record KILL DEVIL HILLS which is the 4th installment of a DJ MUGGS “vs” series. We were on tour in Canada a few months ago, Dj Eclipse & myself had to pick BILL up in Montreal — he was flying in from LA where he was putting the finishing touches on the album w/ MUGGS & doing some promotion for the upcoming Rock the Bells festival. From what I had already heard on the record up to that point was amazing. But when BILL played the entire record for us in the van–from start to finish–I think we all could’ve listened to that shit on repeat the whole tour! The dusty samples and hard drums immediately get you in that head nod zone while BILLS lyrical content sucks you into a world of assassins and street tales. Songs like “Narco C0rridos” will give you goose bumps as Bill pays homage to his uncle who passed earlier this year [REST IN POWER UNCLE HOWIE]! KILL DEVIL HILLS is one of those records you put on and you LISTEN. No skipping tracks on this one… the songs are entirely produced by DJ Muggs, and feature guest appearances from B-Real, Raekwon, Sean Price, Everlast, Slaine, Chace Infinite, O.C., Q-Unique, Vinnie Paz, Sick Jacken. Kill Devil Hills is packed with everything a true hip hop head could ever want in a record, and more you never knew you needed!
